KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A fire broke out in a home on Maynardville Pike in North Knoxville Tuesday night, before storms started rolling into the region.
As crews pulled up to the home, they could see the fire from the windows at the front of the house. Five engine companies, a rescue company, a medic unit and a water tender all responded to the call, according to officials from Rural Metro Fire.
Nobody was injured in the fire, and crews were able to extinguish it by the time heavy rain started pouring, according to officials. The only resident of the home was not inside when the fire broke out. According to officials, the resident was notified of the fire by a UPS driver.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
