ALCOA, Tenn. — Update (6/5/19 7:50 a.m.): The Blount County Sheriff's Office announced the intersection of East Broadway Avenue and McArthur Road had officially reopened as of 7:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Update (6/5/19 7:04 a.m.): The Blount County Sheriff's Office now says the intersection of East Broadway Avenue and McArthur Road is still closed, as of 7:04 a.m. Wednesday, a correction from previous information that the intersection had reopened.
BCSO apologized for any confusion due to the miscommunication.

Original (6/4/19): A driver was taken to UT Medical Center after a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night that downed a joint utility pole, the Blount County Sheriff's Office told 10News.
The accident closed the intersection of East Broadway Avenue and McArthur Road in Alcoa overnight, and could affect morning rush hour traffic, BCSO said in a Facebook post.
AUB is unsure how long it will take to repair the pole, according to the post, but utility workers were responding Tuesday night.
