People living in Farragut will be able to weigh in on what they think should be done with a historic building the town purchased to bring back to life.
The Avery Russell House, also known as the Campbell Station Inn and Martin Russell House, sits at the corner of Kingston Pike and Campbell Station -- where it's sat for more than 180 years as a model of rural East Tennessee architecture.
The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Homes and was used as a hospital during the Battle of Campbell's Station in the Civil War.
In 2012, the Town of Farragut purchased the inn and the 2.26 acres of land surrounding it because of the site's rich history and prominent location.
While the future use of the building has yet to be determined, the house will continue to grace the intersection for years to come, a town newsletter said.
The public will get a chance in February and March to view the unfinished interior of the Campbell Station Inn and give feedback on possible future uses for this historic building.
The open houses will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17 and Sunday, March 3.
