(WBIR - KNOXVILLE) Allison Burchett, the former wife of Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett, has been charged with 13 counts of identity theft, computer crimes and tampering with evidence.
Seven of the charges are felonies, including six identify theft charges, and one tampering with evidence charge, a Class C crime, which carries three to 15 years imprisonment. The other six charges - computer crimes - are misdemeanors.
Her arrest is tied to a May raid by the FBI Cyber Crimes Task Force and the Knoxville Police Department at Bandit Lites corporate headquarters on Sycamore Drive and a Captains Way home, which is owned by company CEO Michael Strickland.
At the time, Strickland was living with Burchett, 33, at the house.
Attorneys for Strickland have said the raid has nothing to do with the company or the company's operations, but rather a complaint made by Strickland's estranged wife, Nicole Strickland.
Knoxville police told 10News on Friday that Michael Strickland will not face any charges.
A presentment from a Knox County grand jury that was released this week says Allison Burchett logged into a number of online accounts owned by Nicole Strickland, including her personal Facebook page, "with the intent to commit an unlawful act." She did this six times between July and October 2014, according to court documents.
In addition, records say that last September and October she made "unauthorized electronic" copies of Strickland's records, including Facebook and prescription data.
The presentment also states that on Sept. 12, 2013, Allison Burchett posted on Nicole Strickland's Facebook account a document "with knowledge of its falsity with the intent to affect the course or outcome of an official proceeding."
A witness list attached to the court filings notes that officials from the FBI, Microsoft, Google, Match.com, and Yahoo!, and SunTrust Bank could all be called to testify against her.
PRESENTMENT: List of charges against Allison Burchett
Burchett, who turned herself over Friday morning, was quickly released after posting a $10,000 bond.
Divorce records filed by Nicole Strickland accuse Allison Burchett of hacking her Facebook account and posting pictures of a mastectomy she underwent. At one point, Nicole Strickland also told the court that she didn't want to turn over medical records in fear that her husband would "disseminate these records in an attempt to humiliate, intimidate, embarrass and harass her."
She later stated that some of the records "have been published on social media by either plaintiff or his agents."
But, Nicole Strickland's attorney, Margaret Held, told WBIR in May that Allison Burchett's actions were much more than that.
She said at the time that it's "an extreme claim to make -- that Nicole Strickland complaining about her Facebook page being hacked would generate this kind of law enforcement response."
The District Attorney's Office declined to comment Friday.
Allison Burchett filed for divorce from Tim Burchett in 2012. He filed a counter claim, alleging infidelity. She moved in with Michael Strickland shortly before the divorce was finalized, records show.
According to the Bandit Lites website, Allison Burchett is listed as the company's director of philanthropy.
Tim Burchett, who has since remarried, declined to comment, saying "that chapter of my life is closed."
