6 charged, 2 'spas' shut down in Knox County raid

Six people have been charged and two Knox County "spas" shut down that actually operated as massage parlors for sex, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
Several people were arrested Thursday in what Knox County authorities allege were massage parlor operations.

(WBIR) - Six people have been charged and two Knox County "spas" raided that actually operated as massage parlors for sex, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

Busted on Thursday were the Angel Spa, 3105 Alcoa Highway, and Energy Touch Day Spa, 1268 Rocky Hill Road, according to authorities.

After getting reports of prostitution at the location, undercover detectives went first to the Angel Spa. Deputies arrested co-owners Dong Hong, 47, and Jian Ning Qi, 51, and employees Sun Ding, 52, and Zhang Liwen, 48.

They were charged with impersonating a licensed professional, a felony in Tennessee, and were being held at the county detention facility.

Also, Liwen was charged with prostitution.

Detectives have seized property and cash, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Records show how the busts were conducted.

For example, at Angel Spa an undercover officer paid $60 for a one-hour massage, performed by Hong and Qi.

Authorities found that Hong and Qi lacked the proper licensing

Hong was found with $3,194 in cash.

Bond for Liwen is $6,000, $5,000 for Hong and Ding and $3,000 for Qi.

Also Thursday, detectives went to Energy Touch. The county's vice unit previously shut it down.

Detectives also went there in June 2014 because of complaints from local business owners, according to the Sheriff's Office. Two people were arrested for impersonating a licensed professional.

Yuan Na, 54, and Jie Li, 57, were charged with impersonating a licensed professional. Na also was charged with prostitution.

Cash and property were taken from the scene. The women also were being held at the county detention facility.

Bond for Na is $3,500 and bond for Li is $3,000.
