5 things to know about Obama's visit to Nashville

1. Return visit

This is Obama's second trip to Davidson County is less than a year. In January, the president came to Nashville's McGavock High School, where he gave a speech touting Metro schools' Academies program.

2. Security costs

During Obama's January visit to Nashville, Metro police supplied 131 officers and at least one German shepherd, named Sapper, for the event. Police spokesman Don Aaron said there were 983 on-duty hours, which included 56.5 hours of overtime. Total price tag: $26,132.

3. Immigration plans

Obama's Tuesday visit comes after he recently issued an executive order to provide temporary legal status and work permits to more than 5 million immigrants who are in this country illegally. An estimated 124,000 immigrants are living in Tennessee illegally.

4. Casa Azafran

Casa Azafran, where Obama will speak on Tuesday, has been open only two years. The immigrant community center is "28,800 square feet of community empowerment, nonprofit collaboration and global grandeur," according to its website. Casa Azafran is at 2195 Nolensville Pike

5. Presidential trivia

Here's some presidential history for you. Three men from Tennessee — Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson and James K. Polk — have served as president of the United States. None was born in Tennessee, but all of them died here.
