Temporary outage planned for SNAP EBT cards across the state

The outage is planned for Saturday, Sept. 21 at noon EST and will end on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. EST.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — There will be a temporary Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) outage from Saturday to Sunday, according to the Tennessee Department of Human Services.

This means EBT cardholders will not be able to use their cards for food and cash purchases or cash withdrawals this weekend. The outage is due to a vendor conversion by TDHS.

The outage is planned for Saturday, Sept. 21 at noon EST and will end on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. EST.

TDHS is advising those to plan to shop before the outage.

Tennessee EBT's toll-free customer-service helpline will also be limited during that time.
