KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — McGhee Tyson Airport is slightly raising its parking rates starting July 1.
On social media, the airport said the short-term parking rate will be $22 per day, increasing by $2. They said the long-term parking rate will be $16 per, increasing by $2. However, the daily economy parking rate will be $11, an increase of $1.
The airport also said that prices were rising "to keep up with current demand and anticipated growth." They also said they recently build a third economy parking lot and are working to expand the airport's parking garage. Money from the rate increases will be used to help in the project, they said.
They also said people could use taxis or ride-sharing platforms to get to the airport, so they won't need to park their vehicles before flights. They also said trailers, motorhomes, buses, motorcycles and oversized vehicles are not allowed in airport parking lots.
