KaTom and Parker Trutec announce expansions in Sevier County

Governor Bill Lee and local leaders announced two major business expansions in Kodak, saying the two expansions combined would create nearly 200 new jobs.

KODAK, Tenn. — Governor Bill Lee, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe, and local leaders announced two major business expansions in Sevier County on Friday.

KaTom Restaurant Supply and Parker Trutec MMI said they will be expanding operations in Kodak.

Parker Trutec officials announced Friday its company will be expanding manufacturing and distribution operations in Sevier County by opening a new facility in Kodak. According to a press release from TNECD, Parker Trutec will invest $12 million and create 48 new jobs over the next five years.

Currently stationed at 134 River Bend Drive in Sevierville, Parker Trutec plans to build a new 54,000-square-foot facility at the I-40 Industrial Park in Kodak.

The new facility would specialize in surface treatment and cleaning operations for the automotive industry. 5,000 square feet of the new facility would be dedicated to warehousing and distribution.

"This expansion will generate more than 40 new jobs for our residents," Sevier County Mayor Larry Waters said. "I appreciate their confidence and investment in our community. This addition, with help from the state, is welcome news to our area."

KaTom similarly will expand its existing operations in Kodak. The wholesale food service and equipment supplier said the expansion would create 120 new jobs in the area over the next five years. It currently employs more than 200 people at its Kodak facility.

KaTom said it plans on adding an additional 100,000 square feet of space to its warehouse fulfillment center to meet growing demand. The company is headquartered out of Kodak and supplies restaurant, kitchen, bar, and pizza equipment.
