(WBIR) A new manufacturing facility will be creating hundreds of jobs in Loudon County.

Morgan Olson LLC announced plans Thursday to open a new walk-in van manufacturing plant in Loudon. The Michigan-based company builds delivery trucks for UPS, the postal service, FedEx, and others.

The company plans to initially hire 400 workers, but that number could grow to 500 or more. The plant includes more than 300,000 square feet of production area.

The manufacturer's president and COO, Mike Ownbey, said the Tennessee location is helpful because it puts the company close to one of their chassis suppliers, and will help lower delivery costs to east coast and southern clients.

There will be a job fair November 5 at the new facility to fill the open positions. The site is located at 9600 Corporate Park Drive in Loudon. The job fair will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some salaried positions are already posted on the company's website: www.morganolson.com
