KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A supply chain company with a location in Knoxville said around 58 workers would be affected when it closes the location.

An official WARN Notice was filed with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development on May 31. In it, CHEP Services said it would close the Knoxville location on Aug. 5, impacting 58 workers.

The location's address is 1540 Amherst Road.  The Knoxville Chamber said the company manages, maintains, transports and supplies around 330 million pallets and containers.

The WARN Notice said the workers were not represented by a union and the East Local Workforce Development Rapid Response team was notified to coordinate services between the company and affected workers.

Anyone with questions about the team or the closure can reach out to the Dislocated Worker Unit at 615-253-6355, the WARN Notice said.
