KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — One of Nashville's breweries is looking to expand its business to East Tennessee. CDP Architecture announced they are getting ready to start construction on the expansion project for Tennessee Brew Works in Lenoir City.
Tennessee Brew Works' Lenoir City Barrel House will expand to a 21,000-square-foot, former fire station at 200 East Depot Street. It will be community-focused, using the built-in courtyard for indoor and outdoor family enjoyment, according to a release.
“I have wanted to build a brewery like the Lenoir City Barrel House for over 20 years,” Matt Simpson, head brewer, said. “Imagination is not in short supply at Tennessee Brew Works; it is exciting to finally showcase our knowledge of wild and sour beers. We will extend the limits of modern brewing while paying homage to old world beer styles and techniques.”
The Lenoir City Barrel House will feature similarities to the Nashville location, focusing on beer-centric food with cuisine. With an expanded kitchen, the taproom will also provide an even greater array of food, a commissary kitchen for catering services and more menu possibilities to go along with a large private event space, the release said.
Lenoir City Barrel House will also offer live music, presenting performances from the area and beyond.
“We are excited to bring a unique and family friendly experience to Lenoir City,” Alex Leibow, Tennessee Brew Works executive chef, said. “Staying true to our mission, we are focusing on sourcing local ingredients, creating a strong working relationship with the community, and ultimately delivering the best of Tennessee and craft beer in our culinary creations.”
Tennessee Brew Works first opened in 2013 with a mission to create high-quality craft beer, paying homage to the land, traditions and culture of Tennessee.
The project is expected to be completed in spring 2025.
