KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A new store filled with clothes, knick-knacks and an assortment of other donated items is opening in West Knoxville.
The Knox Area Rescue Ministries is opening the new store at 9329 Kingston Pike, where people will be able to browse while supporting the non-profit's mission to help people experiencing homelessness in Knoxville. The thrift store was previously open for Christmas but closed after the holidays.
It will open again with a grand opening event on Friday. The store is located near the Main Event in the Cedar Bluff area.
KARM is a faith-based non-profit organization that serves nearly 1,000 meals every day to help the Knoxville community. They also provide emergency shelter for around 400 men, women and children, according to officials.
They also work with other community service providers to provide long-term help for people experiencing homelessness and to help people in crisis.
Purchases at the KARM stores support the organization. They accept donations of clothing, furniture, electronics, appliances and several other kinds of items.
