Knoxville residents went the distance to raise funds for children battling cancer. Thousands of people laced up their walking shoes for the annual St. Jude Give Thanks Walk benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the Knoxville Zoo.
Knoxville is one of more than 65 communities nationwide helping to raise funds and awareness for children battling cancer and other deadly diseases.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened more than 50 years ago.
