(WBIR) Many well known products are made in East Tennessee. Take Newell Rubbermaid for instance. Tucked away in Maryville, this company has been leaving it's mark on a global scale for years. Newell Rubbermaid is where Sharpies are made. In fact, it is where most of the world's supply of sharpies are made.
Up until 2009, the famous marker was made in Middle Tennessee, but for the last several years it's home has been Maryville. Just last year the Newell Rubbermaid plant produced more than one billion markers. Just goes to show that a small town and Tennessee can make a permanent mark on a global scale.
