As people around the country celebrate the life and legacy of Pat Summitt, the foundation created in her name is warning everyone about unauthorized tributes.
Since Pat's death there have been several people selling "memorial shirts" online without authorization to use her legally protected name and image, the Pat Summitt Foundation said in a Facebook post Thursday.
The organization said those illegally selling the shirts are also claiming to benefit the foundation. However, the group contacted the vendors and have heard no response.
Meanwhile, the Pat Summitt Foundation said that on Friday it will start selling the "only authorized (legal) commemorative shirt" that honors Pat's life and career.
Nearly 100 percent of the sales proceeds will benefit her foundation's fight against Alzheimer's disease.
