PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — An inclusive children's gym in Pigeon Forge hosted an event Friday that gave children who may have sensory processing disorders the chance to meet Santa in a safe and comfortable environment.

We Rock the Spectrum — Pigeon Forge aims to make sure that children of all ability levels have a place to play together. It offers a suite of specially designed sensory equipment meant to help children who may be sensitive to different levels of stimulus.

"In our experience, all children are able to benefit greatly from this equipment and by allowing children of all ability levels to play together, they are able to learn a great deal from each other," the gym said in a press release.

The gym hosted a "Sensitive Santa" event on Dec. 8, from 2 p.m. through 6:30 p.m. During the event, families had a chance to enjoy milk and cookies and take photos while their kids wrote down their Christmas lists. They were then able to hand-deliver the lists to Santa during one-on-one sessions.

Children also had a chance to play on some of the gym's equipment and take part in a snowball fight with Santa. Tickets cost $25 and families needed to reserve spots ahead of time.
