Knox County is looking festive and bright during the holiday season

Plenty of people across the area have decorated their homes with dazzling lights and festive figures.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The holiday season is here, and Knox County is becoming brighter by the day as neighbors decorate their homes with dazzling displays and festive figures.

Along Gray Eagle Lane, there are homes glimmering with lights. Neighbors in the Farragut community also spent time decorating their homes to give anyone who passes by a holiday spectacle, along with people in areas of Powell, Cedar Bluff and in East Knoxville.

Some members of the community came together to create an online map showcasing a route people can drive on to see as many decorated Knoxville homes as possible.

"We've just gradually seen neighbors continue to add and add to their displays. Everybody has a lot of fun with it," said one neighbor on Gray Eagle Lane. "We've always had a good time with it. I think, for me, watching it grow and becoming such a part of the community has been really neat."

People can also stop by the Muddy Creek Christmas Show, a backyard passion project that has grown into a full-scale holiday display with more than 200,000 lights.

A map showing the locations of some of the most decorated homes in Knoxville is available below.

A gallery filled with some of the best pictures of decorated homes is also available below. Anyone who wants to share images of their home's holiday decorations can submit pictures through the WBIR app.
