KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — For several years, the Fountain City community has gone without its annual Christmas parade. This year though, organizers are bringing it back and will give families the chance to meet Santa.

On Saturday at 9 a.m., the 2024 Fountain City Christmas Parade will kick off from Gresham Middle School and march over North Broadway to Essary Drive before ending the parade at Central High School. At that school, families will have the chance to meet Santa and listen to festive music played by the Bobcat Band.

There is expected to be around 50 floats for the parade along with classic cars. Roads along the parade route will also be closed.

Anyone who wants to watch the parade can find spots on the sidewalks along Essary Drive or Hotel Road. Organizers also suggested sitting by a duck pond located at a nearby park. Organizers also said Central Baptist Church was allowing spectators to park in its parking lot, but said no spectators should park at the middle school, high school, Litton's restaurant or at the Exxon gas station.
