Anderson County offering families chances to celebrate the holidays at popular locations

With plenty of attractions for people to try out during the holidays, families are headed to Anderson County to see what's in store.

ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — With the holiday season approaching, people are looking for festive ways to spend time with their families and Anderson County is a popular location this time of year.

Stephanie Wells, the director of tourism for Anderson County, said the county offers family several chances to spend time together doing something fun.

"Definitely during Christmas — we see a lot of people visiting family the week before and the week after Christmas. A lot of people coming in to visit family, and family is always looking for something to do," she said. "There's a lot of historical attractions in, especially this time of year. It's great to explore those attractions, learn a lot of history and the big stories that really impacted the world."

Attractions around the area are getting in the holiday spirit as well. Aspire Park in Clinton is hosting a Christmas light show starting Nov. 15 and running through the holidays. The Museum of Appalachia is also hosting its annual "Candlelight Christmas" for people to see what the holidays were like in Appalachia centuries ago.

Antone interested in getting involved in Anderson County's festivities can explore opportunities through the county's tourism department.
