Yassin's Falafel House sending food to Nashville volunteers helping communities recover from Middle Tennessee tornadoes

According to a post on social media, the food is going to help volunteers with the Red Cross of Nashville.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Yassin's Falafel House is helping make sure volunteers in Middle Tennessee have food to give away and eat as they help communities recover from several devastating tornadoes. According to a post on social media, the Knoxville restaurant made several tins of different types of food for the volunteers.

The tins will be given to crews with the Red Cross of Nashville. On Wednesday, the Red Cross of Tennessee said more than 120 volunteers were working around the clock to help people impacted by the tornadoes. It also said they have provided 390 overnight stays with more than 7,300 meals and snacks since the shelters opened.

According to the Red Cross, preliminary data showed around 455 homes were either destroyed or had major damage after tornadoes swept through areas like Clarksville and Davidson County.

"As one community, we will always stay strong," Yassin's Falafel House said on social media.

Anyone who wants to help victims recover from the storms can find more information online.
