KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Yassin's Falafel House was named the nicest place in America in 2018 for the story behind its founding and for the kindness of its owner — Yassin Terou. Ever since earning that title, the restaurant has been proving it deserved it.
A recent post on the restaurant's Facebook post proved it once again. In it, Yassin is pictured alongside a pastor, a rabbi and two fathers. They are smiling into the camera and have their hands on each other's shoulders.
"Moments like these when a rabbi, two father, a pastor, and a Muslim guy can all stand together in the nicest place in America by pure happenstance," they wrote on the post. "This a land of freedom, we can all have different faiths and opinions and enjoy the same food."
Yassin's Falafel House also posted about delivering food to shelters and firefighters after recent flooding in East Tennessee. The restaurant is known for is community outreach efforts and has become a Knoxville landmark.
