KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A school resource officer from West Valley Middle School was overwhelmed Thursday morning after receiving a mountain of baby essentials from the students.
Alex Simerly is expected to have twin girls and he was overwhelmed and appreciative of the gifts. Some middle school boys even helped carry in the gifts.

More than 3,000 diapers and 52 packs of wipes were given to Simerly during drop-off. The expecting father also received gift cards.
West Valley parents congratulated Simerly on the news and thanked him for all he did for the school.
