'We genuinely care about each other' | Man who's 'always giving back' to Blount Co. benefits with event hosted by Maryville community

MARYVILLE, Tenn. — The AMS Haunted Attractions in Maryville hosted an event Saturday to benefit a local man who gives back to the community.

Jimmy Kron, a man community members said is always giving back. Kron is a brick mason who built a mobile pizza oven and has been feeding the community for years.

He said he's raised thousands of dollars for different members of the community through events, like haunted houses and the community wanted to return the favor.

Kron currently has a broken leg and needs help with bills.

"They said, 'Hey, Jimmy's gonna have to have surgery again is there any chance we could do something for him to help him out?' And immediately just absolutely," Austin Green, owner of AMS Haunted Attractions, said.

There was a free, family-friendly trunk or treat, featuring a haunted school bus, food, a raffle and community vendors. There was also a free live concert featuring Walker Wilson, an Alcoa High School graduate, from Season 23 of the Voice.

Every ticket sold will go towards Kron's bills. Proceeds from the raffle and food will also support Kron.
