KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, many non-profits are in need of extra support-- including the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley.

The East Tennessee Chairman's Club stepped in to help by donating $10,000.

That money will help feed around 300 children of essential workers.

Right now, 7 out of the Boys and Girls Club's 17 locations are still open, and they are depending on these generous donations.

"So we became aware that the Boys and Girls Club was being stretched with their budget because they are feeding children that would otherwise be fed in school that are out of school because of the pandemic," Chariman's Club member Jeff Roth said.

Select locations of the Boys and Girls Clubs have extended hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
