Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/3 cup Crisco
1 tsp salt
Ice water to mix
Cooked chicken – you can use a breast, bone-in, turkey- break into bite size pieces with fingers
4 cups of chicken broth or stock
Directions:
Sift salt into flour. Cut Crisco into flour until well mixed. Mix water into flour mixture a teaspoon at a time to make dough. Roll out thin and cut into dumplings- we typically cut them an inch wide and four inches long.
Bring broth to a boil in a big heavy boiler. Drop in dumplings one at a time. Cook on medium high for 10 minutes or until dumplings are cooked.
