TAMPA, Fla. — Former Tennessee defensive back Alontae Taylor got his first career interception as a New Orleans Saint in the team's 23-13 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon.

In the 2023 NFL season, Taylor has totaled 52 solo tackles, 12 pass deflections, one forced fumble, and now his first interception in the league.

Taylor's last season as a Vol was in 2021,  and then he was selected by the Saints with the No. 49 overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The 6 foot 1, 199-pound cornerback was a defensive leader for Tennessee on and off the field.

During his time at UT, he notched four interceptions, 19 pass deflections, three forced fumbles, 115 solo tackles, and scored a pair of defensive touchdowns.

Next up, Taylor and the Saints will play a divisional game against the Atlanta Falcons on Jan. 7 inside Caesars Superdome. That game time is TBD.
