GLENDALE, Calif. - An empowering new daily one-hour talk show, The T.D. Jakes Show, premieres at 2 p.m. ET Monday on WBIR.

The enriching show and its original social media content, led by best-selling author, film and music producer and entrepreneur Bishop T.D. Jakes, will feature real personal stories and honest conversations. The show will include celebrity and non-celebrity guests alike, along with the unique signature wisdom only T.D. Jakes can bring.

“This is as close as I will ever come to giving birth or know what that feels like,” said Jakes, during a one-on-one interview recently.

The powerful, inspiring T.D. Jakes is ecstatic to be the host of the new syndicated talk show.

“It’s very, very exciting to have the opportunity to take your experience, and the many gifts that you’ve been given and to use them to help coordinate the show,” he said. “It’s amazing.”

The highly respected Dallas-based pastor has touched many beyond those within his 30,000-member church and humanitarian organization, The Potter’s House. His reach also includes 11 million social media followers.

The best-selling author of more than 40 books has also produced Grammy-winning music and several feature films, including the recent box office hit, Miracles from Heaven. Jakes also pens his own columns for the magazine, Essence.

He’s thrilled about this new adventure.

“We’ve got the right team around us, and we’ve got the right subject matter to provide the kind of information and inspiration that I don’t see on daytime television today,” Jakes said.

The show has it all, including conflict resolutions dealing with families and crisis -- helping them work through some tough situations. He has the experience to back it up.

Jakes has advised the past three U.S. Presidents. He was a featured speaker at the historic 2009 inauguration of President Barack Obama, and he gave remarks at the 2011 White House Easter Prayer Breakfast. He was also a guest speaker at the funeral of Whitney Houston in 2012.

He’s been counseling people from all walks of life for the past 40 years.

“From the White House to the crack house ... from death rows to people who are homeless,” he said. “So I’ve seen life from every aspect imaginable.”

On his new show, you’ll also see plenty of funny moments and shows about love, dating and marriage.

“I think people will laugh a little bit. I think they’ll be inspired a little bit,” Jakes said. “I think they’ll be surprised by the provocative information that’s provided within the complex of the show.”

“I think it’s going to be fun… It's a great show, y’all!”

All of Jakes experience combined makes him the perfect host for his new talk show.

“I’m not an actor, I’m not somebody paid to give lines. Sometimes I go completely off the teleprompter and just do my own thing, I go rogue,” Jakes said.

But at the end of the day, he’s doing the show for one reason:

“As long as people are helped, I think that’s what it’s all about for me,” he said. “To see people find ways to communicate who have lost their ability to connect, supply options for marriages that are stalled on the side of the road, to help mothers who are at an impasse with their daughters or their mothers-in-law, you know.”

He wants viewers to watch with an open mind and to interact.

“You know what I believe? There is more to unite us than to divide us, and I think we can be united right on my television show,” Jakes said.
