KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Zoo Knoxville has a new CEO.
Bill Street, who most recently served as the Senior Vice President at the Indianapolis Zoo, was selected as Zoo Knoxville's new Chief Executive Officer.
Street has over 30 years of experience in the non-profit and for-profit sectors. While at Indianapolis, he worked on strategic leadership of the organization and management of conservation initiatives, animal welfare, government affairs and youth education initiatives, according to the zoo.
Street also secured $9 million in funding and led the establishment of the Global Center for Species Survival, a partnership with the International Union for Conservation of Nature Species Survival Commission.
"A respected expert, Bill teaches leadership and trends in zoos and aquariums worldwide, and we are confident that his vision will bring a new era of growth and innovation to Zoo Knoxville," the zoo said.
Street's first day is Aug. 26.
