Neil Patrick Harris had a great run, but this year, another seasoned film and theater star with song-and-dance skills will return to host the Tony Awards.
That would be Hugh Jackman, who hosted Broadway's biggest ceremony from 2003-2005, collecting an Emmy Award for the stint in 2004. Jackman was also a Tony winner that year, for his starring role in the musical The Boy From Oz. (He was awarded a special Tony in 2012, as well.)
It was announced Tuesday that Jackman would do this year's honors. In a joint statement, Broadway League executive director Charlotte St. Martin and Heather Hitchens, who holds the same position at the American Theatre Wing, called him "an extraordinary talent and loyal supporter of the Broadway community – whether he is on-stage or in the audience."
Don't rule out seeing Harris at the show, though: He'll be starring in one of the season's most anticipated musical productions, the Broadway premiere of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, set to begin performances March 29 and open April 22.
The Tony Awards will be broadcast live from New York's Radio City Music Hall on June 8.
