Good golly, Miss Molly! The 80's icon is no longer coming to Knoxville this summer

The spunky, teenage actor captured hearts in "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club" and "Pretty in Pink." Now, movie fans will have a chance to meet Molly Ringwald at the Fanboy Expo.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Update (5/28/19): Actress Molly Ringwald will no longer be attending the Fanboy Expo at the Knoxville Convention Center July 13 and 14, organizers told 10News. 

The change in the lineup comes after the star had a change in her filming schedule on the show Riverdale following the passing of star Luke Perry.

Ringwald plays Archie's mom on the show, while Perry had played his father.  

Original Story (3/9/19): When you think 80's unforgettable flicks, it's likely actress Molly Ringwald comes to mind. 

The spunky red-head was a popular teenage idol for young girls. Part of the 1980's brat pack, she was recognized for her roles in "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club" and "Pretty in Pink" to name a few.

Still acting, Ringwald has most recently stared as Mary Andrews on the CW series, "Riverdale." 

A rare opportunity to mingle with her will come this summer at the Knoxville Comic Convention.
