KNOXVILLE, Tenn — The grandson of evangelical icon Billy Graham will come to Knoxville this spring to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of Billy Graham's evangelical crusade at Neyland Stadium.
Will Graham will come to Knoxville Civic Coliseum and Auditorium on May 1, 2020. More than 100 pastors and church leaders across the region gathered Tuesday at Central Baptist Church in Bearden to officially launch planning for the upcoming event.
The free concert, called the 'Knoxville Celebration with Will Graham,' will feature music from Christian artists and inspirational messages from Graham.
"No matter where I go in the world, people seem to be searching for the same things in life,” said Graham, who is holding events in Georgia and West Virginia before coming to Knoxville. “They want peace, purpose and hope. My message will be about how people can find the answers to life’s questions by turning to Jesus Christ.”
More information will be posted on the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's website.
Billy Graham preached at Neyland Stadium on May 28, 1970. He became an evangelical icon through tours across the U.S. and even escorted President Richard Nixon and First Lady Pat Nixon into Neyland Stadium when they arrived in Knoxville.
Billy Graham died of natural causes in February 2018, at the age of 99. He founded the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Will Graham is the Vice President and Associate Evangelist of the organization.
