KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee Arboretum is giving people a chance to try out their green thumbs during a public plant sale on Saturday.
The event will be from 8 a.m. through 12 p.m. on Saturday, and other nurseries are expected to join the arboretum. Tennessee Naturescapes, Riverdale Nursery and East Fork Nursery of Sevierville are expected to join the arboretum.
It will be at the UT Arboretum Sharp Program Shelter, located at 901 South Illinois Avenue in Oak Ridge. During the event, people will have a chance to browse plants and decide whether they would fit their gardens, with experts nearby who may be able to help them choose what to buy.
"We're back in-person, shopping. For the past three years, it's been online. The Arboretum is beautiful, so just to be outside and choose and shop from three great vendors for your own landscape," said Michelle Campanis, who works with the UT Arboretum.
The Arboretum is also hosting a plant sale for members only on Friday, from 4 p.m. through 7 p.m. Organizers said that new members will be able to join on-site before they start shopping.
