VONORE, Tenn — The Monroe Life Balloon Festival will return to East Tennessee for its 11th-year celebration from Saturday, Aug. 31 to Sunday, Sept. 1.

Festivities will occur from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day at the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum in Vonore, Tennessee. The nonprofit event will feature at least 15 hot air balloons for a sunset balloon glow on both nights.

In addition, festivities will include tethered balloon rides, food, craft vendor booths, live music performances and more.

All money raised from the event will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Monroe County. According to Monroe Life, Boys and Girls Clubs have become "more necessary than ever" in the county for parents struggling with inflation, with almost 45% of parents unable to pay the Club's weekly fees.

“The Club, for a lot of parents, is a lifeline because it allows them to stay on their jobs up until 7 O’clock if they need to…. They know [their kids] are in a safe, caring environment, and they don’t have to worry about them.” said BGCOR’s Monroe County Director of Events & Donor Relations, Carly Armstrong.

General admission tickets will be sold for $10. All children under four will receive free admission. For more information on the festival, visit https://www.binghamgroup.com/mlbf24
