KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The holiday season has arrived, and now's your chance to kick off the festivities with a beloved Knoxville tradition! Knox County will host its 26th annual Holiday Festival of Lights at The Cove at Concord Park starting next month.
The event will kick off on Monday, December 2 and continue through Tuesday, December 31, 2024, excluding Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Mayor Glenn Jacobs will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m officially opening the display for the season.
Though the festival is free and open to the public, attendees are encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food items for The Love Kitchen, a nonprofit organization that provides resources for the homeless and unemployed.
In addition, the festival will also host Christmas crafting, cookie-making, ornament-decorating and more. Hot drinks, fire pits, train rides and more will be available.
“The Festival of Lights is one of our most popular and well-loved events countywide,” Mayor Glenn Jacobs said.
“Traditions like this are what makes this time of year special. Folks have the chance to drop by, enjoy the festive atmosphere, give back to the community, or just spend time taking in the lights and activities.”
