GATLINBURG, Tenn. — Little is known about Bigfoot — is it a "missing link," a myth, or something more? Could Bigfoot actually be an alien? Approximately how big is a Bigfoot's foot?

The Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Conference will explore the mystery surrounding Bigfoot when it starts in Gatlinburg on July 25. The conference will include Bigfoot experts, an event-exclusive hike into the Smoky Mountains as well as vendors selling Bigfoot and cryptozoology gear.

The lineup of speakers includes Bob Gimlin, Dr. Jeff Meldrum, Russel Acord, Lyle Blackburn, Adam Davies and Ken Gerhard. They all have experience in cryptozoology. Some have published research papers, others wrote books about Bigfoot and several have made appearances on shows aired the History Channel, Animal Planet and similar channels.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have this level of cryptozoological expertise at our conference,” Nikki Beaty said in a press release, the event manager. “You rarely see such a collection of well-known experts at one event, and to have so many of this magnitude is unheard of.”

There is also a form on the conference's website for people who want time to share their personal experiences with Bigfoot with other attendees. Between 10 - 12 speakers will have a chance to tell their stories using photos, audio or video to accompany it.
