Weezy is coming to the Scruffy City. Rapper Lil Wayne is set to play at Thompson-Boling Arena as part of his "Welcome to Tha Carter Tour." Tickets range from $53.20 to $109.50. You can purchase them here.
The Cirque Italia Water Circus is coming to town at the West Town Mall. The show features performers from Argentina, Brazil, Romania and many other countries. And acts will include master jugglers, low-wire fanatics, dazzling contortion, wild trampoline antics and even a wheel of death. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. and will run until Sunday, Nov. 19. Tickets range from $15 to $60.
Friday
Can't have Christmas without lights. 2023 Comcast Christmas at Chilhowee is a free holiday event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Chilhowee Park. The event will include free activities, free photos with Santa, crafts and a holiday 'Touch-A-Truck' where kids will be able to see decorated construction vehicles, firetrucks and police cars up close.
It's Military Night at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. The Knoxville Ice Bears will go head-to-head against the Evansville Thunderbolts at 7:35 p.m. People will honor the men and women who have served the community and the country. Plus, they will have its annual teddy bear toss where fans can throw teddy bears onto the ice when they score the first goal. The bears will be donated for the holiday season.
Saturday
Two Bikes will host its fifth annual Cranksgiving at Crafty Bastard Brewery. Cranksgiving is a national event that combines bike riding and giving back. This scavenger hunt/food drive will send teams of riders across the city to collect food items to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. Registration opens at 1 p.m. and the race starts at 2 p.m. Tickets are free.
Seven Islands State Birding Park will host a Woodpecker Walk from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Take a hike on the Hickory Ridge Trail where you are most likely to see woodpeckers and learn what to look for when identifying them. Tickets are $8.
Join Marble Springs State Historic Site for a mesmerizing evening under the starry sky at Stargazing: Autumn Edition. From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., you will immerse yourself in the wonders of the cosmos. Make sure to bring blankets, telescopes and curiosity. This event is free.
The annual Barrelhouse Medieval Festival is returning to Barrelhouse by Gypsy Circus Cider. Starting at 3 p.m., you can enjoy foam sword fighting, medieval combat and games, Viking games and more! Tickets to get in are $5.
Sunday
Shop for unique handmade and vintage goods this holiday season at the Retropolitan Craft Fair. This free event will be held at The Mill & Mine from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Peppa, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig are throwing a Sing-Along Party at the Tennessee Theatre. In this new show you can join in the fun as Peppa and friends teach some of their favorite songs. The party starts at 2 p.m. You can purchase tickets on Ticketmaster. They range from $35 to $65.
Come down to Everly Brothers Park to watch the Bearden Tree Lighting. Musical entertainment will be provided by Nancy Brennan Strange and Don Cassell with light refreshments. This event is free and starts at 5:30 p.m.
Monday
It's never too early for some Little History Lessons at the East Tennessee History Center. During each session, caregivers and kids will learn about history through stories, games, crafts and examining artifacts. This week's theme is Cherokee beads. Admission for adults is $10, seniors (over 55) are $8 and children 16 and under get in free.
Tuesday
Light the Park has returned in Farragut. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., enjoy strolling through the park, mailing letters to Santa and watching the holiday lights along Campbell Station Road. There will be entertainment and giveaways from local vendors as well as food trucks at Founders Park most evenings through Dec. 23. You can watch these lights until Jan. 1, 2024.
Wednesday
The East Tennessee Children's Hospital Fantasy of Tress is returning. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., travel through a forest of more than 350 beautifully designed trees, holiday accessories, storefront windows, door designs, table centerpieces and an Adopt-a-Tree forest decorated by local school children. Tickets for adults are $10, seniors 60 and over are $8, children (4-12) are $5, children 3 and under are free.
Time for the annual Dino Races at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. The Knoxville Ice Bears will go head-to-head against Peoria Riverman at 6 p.m. Bring your dinosaur costume and get ready to spring across the ice through multiple thrilling heats of dino dashes. Tickets for the game range from $12 to $50.
