Put on your detective hats! Hardin Valley Academy is putting on a murder mystery dinner theatre. Students will put on a play called "You Have the Right to Remain Dead." There will be three showings: Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. A taco bar from Country Burrito Mexican Grill will be served before the show. You can purchase your tickets here.
Christmas is upon us! The 2023 WIVK Christmas Parade will take place on Gay Street at 7 p.m. Enjoy bands, dancers, lighted floats, characters and Santa Claus! Admission is free.
Join the Cherokee Caners for its fun tradition of Christmas in the Cave. Stroll along the cave path among the Stalactites and Stalagmites with thousands of twinkling Christmas lights and scenes. The self-guided trail will be open for the next three weekends and will run from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $15 per person for ages 4 and up.
Saturday
The Bottom will host Storytime with Santa from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event includes storytime with Santa, two professional family photos and a pre-curated children's book. Step back in time and experience the magic of Christmas at Blount Mansion during A Home for the Holidays: Christmas Tour. The historic house will be adorned with hundreds of twinkling candles and festive decorations. Tickets range from $5 to $10. Tours will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Appalachian Ballet Company will present The Nutcracker with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. The play will be held at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $25 to $71 and are available through Ticketmaster.
Sunday
Christkindlesmarkt is Schulz Brau Brewing's take on a traditional German Christmas Market. Experience the culture and history of Christkindlesmarket as you celebrate, shop and socialize. No ticket is required.
The 25th anniversary of the Holiday Festival of Lights has returned for the month! From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Cove at Concord Park, you can enjoy an illuminated three-quarter-mile greenway trail that features a sparkling light display coordinated to music and a number of fire pits. Admission is free.
Monday
Skate with family and friends at Knoxville's Holiday on Ice in Market Square. Their hours from Monday to Thursday are 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, the rink is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sunday, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event lasts until Jan. 2, 2024. Admission for children 12 and under is $9, for adults is $12.
Tuesday
Safety City will have its Christmas in the City from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. People can bring bicycles, non-motorized scooters, push cars, strollers and wagons to come ride or walk through the city.
Wednesday
Have the time of your life at the Dirty Dancing concert at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium. Starting at 7:30 p.m., celebrate the film favorite on a full-size cinema screen with a band and singers live on stage. Ticket prices range from $52 to $126.
