NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee's sweetheart will celebrate a major milestone in her country singing career.
Dolly Parton will be honored for her 50th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry on Jan. 4.
Parton performed at the Nashville icon for the first time at the age of 10, and later became a member in 1969.
To celebrate the achievement, The Opry will hold a special "Dolly Week" with a number of performances in October. The shows will take place Oct. 10, 11 and 12.
Here's what you can expect for the performances:
Oct. 10: Opry Country Classics will feature performances of Dolly's No. 1 hits.
Oct. 11: Dolly's Mountain Souls- Bluegrass, Americana and Roots Music honor Dolly.
Oct. 12: Dolly Parton's 50th Grand Ole Opry Anniversary Celebration featuring Dolly and other performers.
Tickets are now available for the October events, but the October 12 shows are sold out.
All shows will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Ole Opry or the Ryman Auditorium.
