Heather is thrilled to be back in Knoxville telling the stories of her hometown!
She first joined the WBIR family as an intern while at the University of Tennessee. After graduation, Heather moved to Panama City, Florida where she shot and edited her own stories and produced and anchored the weekend newscasts at the local NBC station.
Then, she headed north to Charlotte where she worked as the primary anchor for a statewide cable news network. Heather covered several historic events there, including the 2012 Democratic National Convention and the March on Wall Street South. She also co-hosted a live Emmy-winning broadcast of the 75th Miss North Carolina pageant.
Most recently, Heather worked as an anchor and reporter in Raleigh traveling with Duke and UNC to three NCAA Championships. She also reported live from the Charlotte Riot and the red carpet at the 50th Annual CMA Awards in Nashville.
In 2017, Heather and her husband welcomed their first child, and they knew East Tennessee was calling them home.
Heather rejoined the WBIR team in March 2018 to co-anchor Fox 43 News This Morning and 10News at Noon.
She has received several awards and was most recently recognized by the Tennessee Associated Press Broadcasters and Media Editors for her 'Live A Little' series highlighting the need for more mentors with Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee.
Heather is a VOLunteer at heart and a fierce champion for community service. She spends much of her time out of the studio furthering the causes of Down Syndrome research and education on behalf of her sister.
Heather enjoys hanging out on the lake with her family and going to UT football games. Go Vols!
If you see her out, say hello!
