KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Camille Gear joined the WBIR 10Sports team in August 2024 as a sports anchor and multi-skilled journalist.

She grew up in Franklin, Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2019, with a degree in journalism and electronic media, and a minor in business administration.

Camille is a VFL through and through, from fond memories of going to Neyland Stadium with her dad as a little girl, to storming the field when Tennessee beat Alabama in 2022, Rocky Top has always been home sweet home. The Gear family is complete with five UT alumni.

Knoxville is not the only place Camille has strong ties to, she interned with WBIR her senior year of college and knew one day she wanted to work here again as a sports anchor.

Before moving to East Tennessee, Camille worked as a sports reporter/anchor at WQAD in the Quad Cities. Most notably she covered college basketball's all-time leading scorer Caitlin Clark and Iowa's national championship runner-up run. She also spent some time in Eastern Kentucky as a sports reporter at WYMT in Hazard, Kentucky. She loved her time in Eastern Kentucky, from covering the University of Kentucky to local high school sports, and of course the Tennessee-Kentucky rivalry.

Camille's passion for sports developed at a young age when she attended the Nashville Predators’ inaugural game at two years old. Little did she know how much of an impact that game would have on her life, and ultimately her career. By the time she was a teenager, she knew what she wanted to be when she grew up, and it was not a princess or a doctor—it was a sports reporter.

There is just something so special about sports; maybe it’s the way it brings people together, or perhaps it’s the athletes and their incredible stories. Whatever it is, Camille knows covering them is what she's meant to do.

When Camille is not working you can find her doing Pilates, shopping, playing with her Golden Retriever Millie, or cheering on the Vols!

Camille is excited to call Knoxville home once again. If you have a story idea or want to share your love for the Vols, Camille would love to hear from you. You can connect with her on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. You can also send her an email at CGear@WBIR.com.
