JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A vehicle fire on I-40 East originally blocked two lanes of traffic near the Highway 25 and Highway 70 East exit in Jefferson County Friday night, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
It said the fire was reported at around 8:45 p.m. Eastern Time, and traffic was still backed up to Deep Springs Road around two hours later.
A spokesperson for the department said a tractor-trailer had caught fire, and drivers should use caution. He also said at around 10:40 p.m. that two lanes of the highway were back open.
