Wartburg and Oakdale took part in a "Pink Out" during Friday night's basketball games.

The event benefited the group SHOC, or "Survivors Helping Others Cope."

"I just feel very fortunate we have the support group that we have here," breast cancer survivor Anna Harlan said. "I just always feel like God has given me life and I should, in return, give back to help others."

This self-supporting organization helps those suffering from cancer in Morgan County and beyond. They provide various need-based services and accept donations.

"Cancer changes everything," Debbie Taylor, a non-Hodgkin's lymphoma survivor, said. "You begin to think about the things that are really important - your family, your friends are the most important things when you're going through treatment. They're your support.

"When we have a support group, we want to be there for you as well," Taylor continued.

You can help SHOC by calling 423-215-4429.
