WBIR Helmet Stickers for State Semifinal games

Here are our Helmet Sticker Award winners for the state semifinals!

We're starting a new tradition at WBIR. Each week during high school football season, the WBIR 10Sports team will hand out four helmet stickers to some of the top performers in East Tennessee. The winners will be recognized at the end of our Friday night football show "PrepXtra." We will also mail a WBIR helmet sticker to each of the winners.

Playoffs, State Semifinals

Patrick's Helmet Sticker: Jack Sompayrac, Knoxville Catholic

Sompayrac completed 15 of his 21 passes for 205 yards and one touchdown in the air. He ran for 58 yards and two more touchdowns on the ground.

Chierstin's Helmet Sticker: Jack Cone, Maryville

Cone kicked the game-winning field goal as the Rebels triumphed over Oakland, 31-28.

Luke's Helmet Sticker: Zander Price and Octavious Worthy, Rockwood

Price is one of the 16 Rockwood seniors who meant a lot to the Tigers in 2017. He had a great catch in the second half to set up Trey Treadway's game-tying field goal in a 16-10 loss to Tyner. Price also had a couple clutch pass breakups to keep the Rams at bay.

Worthy got the Tigers on the board in the most unconventional way. With .4 seconds left in the first half, Rockwood blocked the Rams' field goal kick, and Worthy picked it up in front of the end zone. He then returned it 95 yards for a touchdown.

Louis' Helmet Sticker: Alcoa's defense

The Tornadoes are working up a storm on defense, posting shutouts in three of their four postseason games. Red Bank was the latest victim; Alcoa blew them out, 34-0.
