Offensive Player of the Week: TKA's Brandon Burgess

Brandon Burgess of the King's Academy is our high school football offensive player of the week for the second time this season.

Burgess threw four touchdowns last week to give the Lions their seventh win.

He's met his expectations so far this season.

"I have but you know you always expect so much of yourself. There's a lot of things that I feel I've done right, but there's also a lot of things I know I can get better at," said Burgess. "You never feel like you've reached your full potential but we're working toward that right now."

"We were expecting him to have a big year coming in, said TKA head coach, Matt Lowe. "He's a four year starter, he's a guy we're really counting on so it doesn't surprise me that he's been able to have some of the ball games he's been able to have, the year he's had. He's had a great supporting cast around him. Friday night was kind of one of those games where everything fell into place and everybody on the unit did their job. When that happens, the quarterback looks awfully good."

The King's Academy hosts a playoff game for the first time ever Friday. The Lions will host Clarksville Academy.
