Dreams come true for local football players

See which local athletes signed early to play football at the next level.

Local high school football athletes are signing with college football programs all over the country during this early signing period. Some even on the Division I level. Here's a list of those taking their talents to college. This article will be updated throughout the day.

Morgan Ernst, Webb

-Signing with ARMY

A two-star linebacker prospect according to 247Sports, Morgan Ernst played linebacker and fullback for the Spartans. Ernst earned recognition as a Mr. Football Finalist for his 2017 campaign with Webb. Ernst won both the offensive and defensive player of the week award from WBIR. Ernst committed to Army back in May.

Ollie Lane, Gibbs

-Signing with TENNESSEE

Ollie Lane, a three-star prospect according to 247Sports, Lane grew up a Tennessee fan. He said playing Tennessee has always been a dream for him. He also had some high praise for his new head coach, Jeremy Pruitt.

"He's got all the right things he needs to make a great team," Lane said, "and I'm glad I get to be a part of it."

Lane had offers from 19 different schools, but committed to the Vols back in April, staying with the team through the coaching change.

Dalton Widner, Gibbs

-Signing with CHARLOTTE

A two-star center, according to 247Sports, Widner committed to the Charlotte 49ers back in April. Widner received offers from six different schools, including ETSU and Coastal Carolina.

Nate Adkins, Bearden

-Signing with ETSU

Playing on the line, Nate excelled in high school for the Bulldogs. He'll keep it local, playing for new ETSU head coach Randy Sanders.

Jacob Warren, Farragut

-Signing with TENNESSEE

A three-star tight end prospect, according to 247Sports, Jacob Warren received offers from 23 different school, but he committed to the Vols back in May of this year. The tight end has grown up a Vols fan, saying after his signing "It's been my dream ever since I was little." His father, James Warren, is a VFL, playing on the offensive line for Tennessee in the early 1990s.

Braden Collins, Farragut

-Signing with APPALACHIAN STATE

A three-star wide receiver prospect, according to 247Sports, Braden Collins received offers from 32 different programs, but committed to App State back in September of 2017.

Dylan Hopkins, Maryville

-Signing with UAB

Dylan Hopkins, a two-star prospect according to 247Sports, received an offer from UAB back in May of this year. He committed to the Blazers a month later. Hopkins helped lead the Rebels to a state title this season.

Isaiah Cobb, Maryville

-Signing with CHATTANOOGA

A two-star running back prospect according to 247Sports, Isaiah Cobb played a big role in the Rebels state title run this season. The nephew of former Alcoa star and wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers Randall Cobb, Isaiah will be staying in state.

Blake Watson, Maryville

-Signing with AUSTIN PEAY

A tight end prospect, Watson received offers from 12 different schools. He committed to Austin Peay back in October and will be staying in state to play ball at the next level.

Jack Warwick, Alcoa

-Signing with TENNESSEE TECH

The Alcoa linebacker won three state championships during his time with the Tornadoes. He'll stay in state to play with his brother Jake. Their grandfather, Lonnie Warwick, played for the Golden Eages as well on his way to the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL.

Cade Mays, Catholic

-Signing with GEORGIA

After initially committing to Tennessee, this local five-star product decommitted in November, turning his eyes to the playoff-bound Georgia Bulldogs. For more on Cade Mays and his decision, CLICK HERE.

Cameron Blakely, Catholic

-Signing with MIAMI (OH)

After winning a state title at Catholic, wide receiver Cam Blakely is taking his talents to Ohio to play for the RedHawks.

DaShon Bussell, Catholic

-Signing with WESTERN MICHIGAN

In his only year with the fighting Irish, DaShon Busell won a state title. Now this do-it-all athlete will bring his talents to Western Michigan and play for the Broncos. For more on his biggest fan, CLICK HERE.

DJ Mitchell, Catholic

-Signing with EASTERN KENTUCKY

The two-star Catholic cornerback is on his way to play for Eastern Kentucky and head coach Mark Elder.

Parker McKinney, Coalfield

-Signing with EASTERN KENTUCKY

The Class 1A Mr. Football and Coalfield legend Parker McKinney is heading to Eastern Kentucky as a quarterback.

Caleb Martin, Oak Ridge

-Signing with EASTERN KENTUCKY

The Oak Ridge two-star wide receiver will play for The Colonel.

Dom Williams, Fulton

-Signing with KENTUCKY

The former Fulton Falcon, Domonique Williams graduated from Fulton and went to play with the Highland C.C. Scotties on the Junior College level. Now, he comes to the SEC under Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats.
