Vols land 7-foot Serbian center transfer from Arizona State

Uros Plavsic will join the Vols as a redshirt freshman, transferring to UT after a season as a Sun Devil.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — On the same day that Grant Williams announced his decision to forego his senior year and keep his name in the NBA Draft, Tennessee basketball added a seven-foot transfer center.

Uros Plavsic, a native of Serbia, announced on Twitter that he will transfer to Tennessee after redshirting during his freshman season at Arizona State.

Plavsic played high school basketball at Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga. He was rated a three-star and ranked the number five prospect in the state of Tennessee in the class of 2018 according to the 247Sports composite.

In addition to Williams, the Vols are also losing Admiral Schofield and center Kyle Alexander off their Sweet 16 team, plus forward Derrick Walker who is transferring to Nebraska. Junior point guard Jordan Bone is going through the NBA Draft process and will announce on May 29 whether he will keep his name in the draft or return to Tennessee for his senior season.

The Vols welcome in four other newcomers this summer - five-star point guard Josiah-Jordan James, four-stars Davonte Gaines and Olivier Robinson-Nkamhoua and three-star Drew Pember.
