Tennessee men's basketball ranked in AP Top 25

The Tennessee men's basketball team are ranked in the AP Top 25 poll for the first time since 2010.

Rick Barnes' Vols are getting off to a great start this season with a 6-1 record so far. Their only loss came to Villanova, now ranked 4th in the AP poll.

They held off Georgia Tech on Sunday for a 77-70 win on the road, and entered the Top 25 at No. 24 on Monday.

Tennessee had been picked to finish next to last in the SEC men's basketball preseason poll.

Three other SEC teams are ranked, all in the top 10: Florida at No. 5, Texas A&M is ranked No. 7, and Kentucky is currently at No. 8.

UT's next three games are home against Lipscomb (Dec. 9), North Carolina (Dec. 17) and Furman (Dec. 20).

The Lady Vols, who are undefeated at 8-0, are ranked No. 11 in the AP poll.
