Pruitt, Vols coaches visit 5-star prospect Cade Mays

New Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt and three other members of the Vols' staff stopped at nearby Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic High School on Wednesday to make their pitch to five-star offensive lineman Cade Mays, a former longtime Tennessee commitment.

New Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt and three other members of the Vols' staff stopped at nearby Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic High School on Wednesday to make their pitch to five-star offensive lineman Cade Mays, a former longtime Tennessee commitment.

A post on Knoxville Catholic's official football Twitter account Wednesday afternoon indicated that Pruitt and new Tennessee athletic director Phillip Fulmer stopped at the school to meet with Mays. Knoxville Catholic coach Steve Matthews told GoVols247 that Pruitt and Fulmer were accompanied on the visit by offensive line coach Will Friend and offensive coordinator Tyson Helton.

Mays, who officially parted ways with the Vols last month before the firing of former coach Butch Jones, recently has referred to Clemson, Georgia and Ohio State as his top three college choices. He's scheduled to take an official visit to Georgia this weekend before announcing his final decision next week.
