As Tennessee’s coaching search has continued under new athletic director Phillip Fulmer, concrete information has been hard to come by.
Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele has been often mentioned in connection with Tennessee's search. GoVols247 can confirm there has been contact, but not anything that could be considered an official interview.
There has been no further contact, but that doesn't mean there won't be. One source said a meeting was possible as early as Monday night, but with Steele in Arkansas for the Broyles Award ceremony and Fulmer in New York City for Tuesday's National Football Foundation gathering, we believe a Monday night interview is unlikely.
